Duncan Fletcher appointed to lead Indian team

With the great efforts of Gery Cristen, India got historical victory after 28 years and put Indian team on the peak of success. India had not appointed any Coach since the resignation of Gery Cristen, but all of a sudden, Indian Cricket Board appointed Duncan Fletcher for two year at stretch. His credentials include being former coach of England team.

This move was unexpected. Some days ago, Indian cricket Board announced that Indian team would make tour to West Indies & England without any coach in the coming June.

An interesting point to ponder is that in the past Indian Cricket Board constituted a panel of former cricketers and then they took interview of candidate for appointing Coach but this time Indian Cricket Board overrode the decision in the appointment of Duncan Fletcher, without bothering to consult the panel.
